Children make immediate friends with animals. This stays with children throughout their lives. It’s time to answer their questions honestly and arm them with the answers against the arguments in support of animal abuse.

Recommended activity:
Bringing feeds of fresh sweetcorn, peas, lettuce and greens to feed the many birds free roaming at the centre

Check the weather and wear appropriate clothing. Ie strong sunshine means hats and sun creams (waterproof and boots in the rain)

Our quieter times are Thursday Friday 12-4pm; weekends are much busier

No picnics or bringing your own food onsite. We have a supermarket, vending machines and cafe. For stays in our holiday lodges, only vegan food allowed.
Volunteer opportunities:
All volunteering must be organized before your visit. Volunteering with parents or guardians start at 12 years old
Operating hours:
From Mothering Sunday (usually March ) til the 1st dec. Every Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday 12-4pm. Never open on a bank holiday Monday. Closed for winter all of December, January and February.

Dogs welcome on a lead but not on tours. Disabled parking and toilet are close to the cafe. Only the cafe and shops close at 4pm visitors are able to stay later.
